Bio

Band PhotoStateside Stereo hails from Houston, TX, where 3 of the 5 members grew up as best friends. Freddy Doty (drums), J.R. Rodriguez (electrical guitars), and Bob Said (bass) have been playing together since high school in non-sound-proofed practice garages while angering uppity old neighbors.

Jeremy McKeon, hailing from New England, joined the band as lead guitarist.
His driving solos helped encourage the band soon-to-be Stateside Stereo to invest in a sound-proofed practice space. The final addition to the Stateside Stereo lineup was Evan Matzen as lead vocalist. Evan, like Jeremy, was a southern import from New England.

Stateside Stereo, although relatively new to the music scene, has played in venues like Fitzgeralds, Rudyards, and Dan Electro's. Their music is a pleasing combination of driving rock with flowing, catchy melodies, and sometimes angst-driven power. Always attempting to push the boundaries of rock music, Stateside Stereo's music is fresh and appealing to all music-going age groups, although the boys recognize that their rapping abilities are not up to snuff. Because of the band member's professional status in Houston, many of their audience members are in their late 20's to mid 30's, and have strong and fruitful beer-purchasing prowess.

Stateside Stereo hit the studio at the end of December 2006 to record their Stateside Stereo EP, featuring four new songs. They hope to enter the studio again in 2007 to record a full-length album.

Stateside Stereo's stage show is second to none. Their live act is just as polished and finessed as their recordings. Most importantly though, Stateside Stereo is fun: The band has fun, the audience has fun, and the bar owners have fun. Their original music is natural, unforced, and unposed.

They aren't trying to sound like anything other than themselves. The music is up-tempo, upbeat, and even the "slow" songs have a drive and passion.

That's what the music is: it's joyous and passionate! Stateside Stereo genuinely loves playing together and that feeling is infectious in their shows. They want you to move with them. They want you to sing along and have just as much fun Rockin' Out as they are having. Nobody knows how far this will go or if circumstance will break them apart. But what could be better than losing yourself in Rock and Roll for a while? Rock On!
